Below are some of the possibilities I’ve explored within classical music.

In Your Face

In Your Face brings classical music into the middle of the audience. Musicians perform standing, without music stands, and move freely through the space, creating an immersive experience where improvisation, pulse and the surrounding environment become part of the performance.
The format can accommodate existing works such as Terry Riley’s In C and Louis Andriessen’s Workers Union, while also creating a framework for new works. Through commissions from living composers, In Your Face will continue to develop its own repertoire and artistic identity.

Classical Melodi Grand Prix

Classical Melodi Grand Prix turns classical music into a competition, combining well-known favourites with lesser-known repertoire. With the audience at the heart of the event, a host presents the music, musicians are interviewed along the way, and the audience votes for their favourite. The format leaves room for TV-style staging, games and other playful elements — and a winner at the end.

360° Symphonic Experience

360° Symphonic Experience puts the orchestra in a circle, with the audience seated all around it. The format gives the audience a new perspective on the music and a closer look at how an orchestra works. Musicians can move through the space, the orchestra can be arranged in different ways, and lighting and visual design become part of the experience. It also leaves room for theatrical elements and works with a wide range of repertoire and soloists.

The Last Concert

The Last Concert asks a simple question: if this were your last concert, what would you want to hear? A guest chooses the music based on memories, musical tastes, stories and personal associations, while the host and guest explore questions of life and death in conversation with the audience. The music becomes part of that conversation, creating a concert that moves between personal stories, existential questions and live music – with the guest, host and orchestra shaping the evening together.
